Hotel Formentin has accompanied the history of Abano in the last century, from the early twentieth century to the present day. He observed the evolution of Euganean thermalism from a privileged point, from the beating heart of the spa town, famous for its parks, its fountains, the luxury boutiques projected onto the pedestrian promenade. It marked its debut in the nascent tourist landscape in an overwhelming way, with a thermal well with a very powerful jet of water, which still gushes to the surface at 87 ° C, delivering about 300 liters of water per minute.

It was 1911 and the Hotel Formentin was built in place of an old grocery store with salts and tobaccos belonging to the Formentin family, from which it inherited the name. Thanks to the expertise of Mario Formentin, a spa doctor who took over the management of the hotel in 1919, the Hotel established itself as one of the reference spas with effective treatments against rheumatic diseases.

The history of the Bernardi family crosses that of the Formentin family in 1975 when Mr. Armando Bernardi together with his wife Ada bought the hotel. The third generation today leads this Aponese welcome address with the pride of pioneers and the foresight of avant-garde entrepreneurs.
